Creating beautiful films is what we do. Apprenticing the formerly incarcerated for careers is why we do it.

Every year Neighborhood recruits and employs one formerly incarcerated adult to work full time at the company as an Apprentice.  Working on real projects with real risk and reward, Apprentices are run through a gauntlet of business skill development, career mentorship, and holistic life change. Not developing them to be directors or editors, but high-level project coordinators with a versatile skill set that can translate into many diverse work environments.

Neighborhood’s Apprenticeship program is run through The Working Film Establishment, a Pennsylvania 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Neighborhood absorbs all big-ticket administrative expenses such as the Executive Director salary, rent, accounting, and other ancillary costs ensuring that your donations have maximum impact directly supporting the salary, counseling, and career development opportunities of the Apprentice.
